Audi expands the offer of the A6 with a new variant called 55 TFSI and Quattro with which they achieve a power of 367 hp and a consumption of 2.1 l / 100 km.
Although the eighth generation of the Audi A6 has already been in the market for more than a year, the four-ring brand continues to expand the offer around its sedan, in fact, this summer we have seen how it expanded with the latest incorporations of the A6 Allroad and the spectacular RS 6. Now the Audi A6 will allow us one more option to choose in terms of its motorization, with the new variant 55 TFSI and Quattro plug-in hybrid.
It was also in the summer when we could test the 50 TDI Quattro variant of 286 hp with a mild-hybrid system, but in the case of the new 55 TFSI and Quattro, we are faced with a plug-in hybrid proposal, in which logically we will also have the ECO label. For this occasion, the 2,000 cc TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine is used, which gives us a power of 252 hp, to which the support of a 143 hp electric motor is attached, with which a combined power of 367 hp is achieved. With this combination, the Audi A6 55 TFSI e Quattro achieves consumption figures of about 1.9-2.1 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 43-47 g /km.
The power is transmitted to all four wheels thanks to the Quattro technology of Audi, previously passing through the S Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission, it is possible to say that this is where the additional electric motor is integrated. As part of this hybrid system Audi has used a lithium-ion battery of 14.1 kWh, located in the rear in a flat arrangement so as not to reduce space in the trunk and can be charged in two hours and a half with a plug 7.4 W , which will also allow us to perform up to 53 km in fully electric mode as well as a maximum speed of 135 km / h.
Thanks to this hybrid system in the Audi A6 55 TFSI e Quattro we will find three driving modes that we can select according to our preferences or driving at a certain time: it is the EV mode that will allow us to circulate in fully electric mode, the Hybrid model with the one that we will circulate in hybrid mode automatically and, finally, the Hold mode with which the electric energy stored in the battery will be conserved for later use.
Aesthetically, the Audi A6 55 TFSI e Quattro will not have aesthetic differences compared to the rest of the range unless we will have the plugin a lid on the side opposite to the fuel tank, although it should be said that it will be standard equipped with the S Line aesthetic package which adds elements such as the mirror housing in black, 19-inch wheels, window frames, h8 led headlight bulb and several black inserts, tinted rear windows and Matrix LED headlights among others.
At the moment, Audi has not disclosed the price of the A6 55 TFSI e Quattro for the Spanish market, although to get an idea if we know that in Germany, it will be priced at 68,850 dollars.
