The guide to remove Audi A4/A5 B8.5 xenon projector

We are going to show you how to remove the hid projector from the headlight in Audi A4 and A5.

First of all, we’re going to show you how to do the A4-1 it’s a lot easier than the A5-1. All you need is a Torx screwdriver, once you’ve released the two Torxscrews you are literally going to pull the projector forward just put a bit of pressure. Release the projector off and slide up chapter will come out just pull and you have the a for headlight near enough fully stripped. Once the projectors out this four screws on the rear you need to undo them four screws and remove the shroud. Removed the shroud and the four screws the projector will just slide out ready for you to do your clear lens mod.

Next, we’re going to show you how to remove the projector from the A5. It’s a similar process to the A4, it’s held on with two screws on this headlight. First we’re going to go for the one right at the back our extension and our manual screwdriver and we’re going to unscrew that screw smoking screw move up outside. A bit project the route and do the solenoid and click the shroud and the four bolts and the projector will be off in your hand.

These two projectors that we’ve just removed are for non AFS headlights, we have got an AFS headlight. Release the projector from there, it’s exactly the same. But on the AFS ones you will be having to remove a few extra connections, these are going to be four seven mil bolt that you’re going to use to undo that to make this easy. I will show you how to remove the AFS frame and the motor. We want to do is close and do two screws that are holding the motor on and get your flat-head screwdriver and you want to come underneath there but you just want to pry that off and remove the plastic cap there the motor will come out.

It is a case of undoing the four seven mill bulbs removing the shroud wiggling the projector out of there and that will leave you with the projector in your hand ready to do the clear lens mod. So exactly the same may look a bit more daunting than non AFS, but the process is exactly the same it’s really really easy to do.
